The history...
The summer of 1996 saw the team decide to enter tournament play. The team traveled to a tournament in London, which, looking back on it now, was old school. One team was even wearing roller skates - not inline's. The team fared well at their first tournament, well enough in fact to get invited to the finals weekend in Wasaga Beach later in the summer. The team traveled to Wasaga Beach, and learned a thing or two about humility. Even though they were handed a number of losses, the team came out with a desire to continue competitive play, and began to prepare for tournaments for years to come.

The legacy...
The future...As part of the ongoing evolution of the Canning Mudhogs franchise, teams have been added in youth and women's categories. As the original members of the team have grown up and started their own families, there is a new generation of Mudhogs who have begun to chart their own course. And the organization can only continue to grow annually. It is amazing to look back at how this organization has evolved, from those days of playing at "Gallant Gardens", "Cowan's", and "The Museum" have morphed into traveling across Canada and throughout the United States to compete in numerous tournaments throughout the years. In 1995, no one could have predicted that this is where the organization would be a decade and a half later.
